November is Alzheimer Awareness Month in Brazoria County
November 2018 was proclaimed as "Alzheimer Awareness Month" in Brazoria County by Commissioners' Court. Alzheimer's, a neurodegenerative disease that results in the loss of brain cells and their connections, affects 5.5 million Americans, more than 350,000 people on the Texas Gulf Coast, and 9,803 people in Brazoria county alone.
The Court encourages citizens to join them in commending the Brazoria County Alzheimer's Awareness Project for working through education and collaboration to create awareness and encourage early detection of Alzheimer's disease in our community.
