March marks the beginning of Texas History Month, a month-long celebration of Texas Independence. On March 2, 1836 the Texas Declaration of Independence from Mexico was signed.
In recognition of Texas History Month, the Brazoria County Historical Museum will host a live virtual program with noted speaker and former Executive Director of the Texas State Historical Association Dr. Frank de la Teja on Thursday, March 11th at 6:30pm. De La Teja will present “Tejanos and the Struggle for Texas Independence.” Join us as he explores the role that Tejanos (Mexican Texans) played in the development of Texas after Mexican Independence, and their political and military roles in the Texas Revolution.
