Follett's Island Beach
Follett's Island is the 13-mile stretch of public access beach along the Gulf of Mexico that protects Christmas Bay and the Intracoastal Waterway from severe weather, and provides the community with free entertainment and relaxation.
Visitors of Follett's Island enjoy fishing, swimming, and camping along the beach year round. The free to enjoy beach is available via public access entrances along Bluewater Highway, or CR 257.

Follett's Island is also spelled "Follet's", and is named for the Follet family, early settlers in the area.
The Brazoria County Parks Department welcomes you to Follett's Island, and hopes you have a safe and enjoyable time on the beach.
Information for campers and visitors:
-No person shall camp on any public beach for a period greater than 14 consecutive days. “Camp” means to use for habitation any tent, lean-to, sleeping bag, blanket, automobile, trailer, camper, or other means of shelter
-There is no fee or permit to camp at or visit Follett's Island
-April through September, portable toilet units will be available for use along beach access points one and two
-Small campsite fires are allowed, as long as there is not a burn ban in effect
-Do not bring glass of any kind
-Place all trash in trash cans
-The state-protected sand dune areas are off-limits
- All vehicles driven on the beach must be street legal
-Horseback riding is allowed
-Pets must be leashed
-Find a fishing license retailer on the TPWD website
