Come join the Brazoria Paddlers Club as they hold a paddling event on one of the waterways in Brazoria County. We'll meet at the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory in Lake Jackson at 7:45 a.m. for an intense morning of birding. From 8 to 9 a.m. we will participate with the bird banding at the GCBO. From 9 to 10 a.m. we will walk the grounds of GCBO, and do some birding in their gardens. At 10 a.m. we will head over to Wilderness Park and launch our boats onto Buffalo Camp Bayou. We'll bird by boat between the bridge and the dam. After the trip, anyone who wants can join us at the Wayside Pub in downtown Lake Jackson for lunch. Please bring your own binoculars, and don't forget your cameras as we're sure to see some great photo opportunities. You will want to bring proper walking shoes for the land portion of the day, but your feet will be getting wet once we go paddling. We recommend an extra pair of shoes. Bring your own boat or borrow one of ours. Must complete, or already have on file, a copy of our liability release form for 2020 (https://www.brazoriacountytx.gov/home/showdocument?id=11494).For information or reservations call (979) 864-1152 or email mikem@brazoria-county.com.
