RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE – New Consolidated Civil & Family Filing Fees & Effective Date in E-file
Dear Brazoria County Filer,
Effective January 1, 2024. SB1612 Amends Family Code, Section 110.002(a) adding Subsection (d) filing fees under this code have been raised from $15 to $80. Those being:
1. A suit or motion for modification;
2. A motion for enforcement;
3. A notice of application for judicial writ of withholding;
4. A petition for license suspension;
5. A motion to revoke a stay of license suspension; or
6. A motion for contempt.
A motion to transfer has been repealed. There is now no fee for a motion to transfer in any code.
Amends Family Code, Section 110.005(a) the fee for filing a transferred case has been raised from $45 to $80 and allocated as provided by Chapters 133 and 135, Local Government Code, as applicable. Effective 1/1/24.

(5)Timely Filing. Unless a document must be filed by a certain time of day, a document is considered timely filed if it is electronically filed at any time before midnight (in the court's time zone) on the filing deadline. An electronically filed document is deemed filed when transmitted to the filing party's electronic filing service provider, except:
(A) if a document is transmitted on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, it is deemed filed on the next day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday;

Motion for Continuance
Motion for Judgment
Motion for Sanctions
Personal and Out-of-state checks are not accepted.
Money orders, cashier's checks, checks from law office accounts and insurance checks are accepted. Please show style and cause number on your remittance.
If you do not have your cause number, you will need to search for the case number in the District Clerk's office Record Case Search.
You may submit a Search Request Form to our office with a $5.00 check or money order, if you are unable to locate the case number when searching the Record Case Search on the web.
