There are four kinds of state historical markers in Texas:

• SUBJECT MARKER
• HISTORIC TEXAS CEMETERY MARKER
• RECORDED TEXAS HISTORIC LANDMARK MARKER
• UNDERTOLD MARKER

The 2023 deadline for SUBJECT, Historic Texas CEMETERY, and Recorded Texas Historic LANDMARK Markers is  MAY 15, 2023, at 2pm.

The application period for UNDERTOLD Markers will be OCTOBER 1 to NOVEMBER 15, 2023.
