Our field trip education guides help you, the educator, connect our field trips to the classroom.

We host two field trips a year:

Early November - Stephen F. Austin's birthday
Early March - Texas Independence Day

These hands-on field trips connect students to early Texas, bringing both Mexican Texas and the Republic period to life through a series of demonstrations and activities.

Field trips are aligned to both 4th and 7th grade TEKS standards, with optional classroom activities. These activities include lessons that integrate science, art, and historical inquiry into the classroom.

7th Grade TEKS

Within the guide you'll find instruction, maps, and activities to help prepare your students for a fun and informational field trip to our park.

Most events are free, space is limited.

Reservations must be made at least two weeks before each field trip.
