  1. Assist veterans & family members in obtaining discharge papers (DD214’s)
  2. Assist veterans in applying for service connected compensation benefits
  3. Assist eligible widows in applying for dependency and indemnity compensation benefits
  4. Assist veterans & widows in applying for pension and death pension benefits to help with the cost of Home Healthcare, Assisted Living, & Nursing Home
  5. Assist veterans with enrollment applications to the VA Medical Center
  6. Help Provide transportation to VAMC appointments
  7. Provide Vet Center counseling services
  8. Assist with obtaining Burial Benefits for dependants of eligible Vets
  9. Assist with application of Burial Flag, Markers, and obtaining Honors for Veteran Funerals
  10. Help widows with CHAMPVA/SBP benefits (if entitled)
  11. Guide dependents in the area of VA/State Veteran Education Benefits
  12. Help Veterans obtain VA Certificate of Eligibility for Home Loans
  13. Help Veterans and Widows apply for Property Tax Relief (if eligible)
  14. Help veterans resolve problems at the VAMC or OPC
  15. Assist in providing funds for Brazoria County Veterans in need of emergency assistance
  16. Conduct monthly meetings with all local veteran organizations to disseminate and collect information pertaining to our counties veterans
  17. Provide briefings to make veterans and spouses aware of what benefits may be available to them currently or in the future
  18. Attend monthly meetings as needed with DVA, VAMC, State, and Local entities, on behalf of BC Veterans
  19. Attends veteran functions throughout the county
  20. Maintain the DAV Van for the Veteran Transportation Network
  21. Help provide Volunteers for DVA, VAMC, and local Veteran Organizations
