2021 First Quarter News
Precinct 3 kicked-off 2021 into high gear by hosting multiple events for residents:
- Dunes Day Christmas Tree Drop-Off (Ended in January)
- This endeavor benefits Brazoria County beaches which have been impacted by multiple storms.
- Used Tire Recycling Collection (February 20)
- A partnership with H-GAC, Keep Brazoria County Beautiful Assoc., Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
- Vessel Turn-In Program (March 22-25)
- A partnership with the Texas General Land Office, Texas Parks & Wildlife, and Brazoria County Fire Fighter Association.
In addition, Judge Sebesta and Commissioner Adams had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Congressman Troy Nehls during his introductory visit to Commissioners' Court. The meeting consisted of concerns of vaccine availability, the importance of transportation, and current county issues.
One of the great opportunities in Precinct 3 is engaging local civic organizations and updating them on what Brazoria County is working on currently, plans to do in the future and hear feedback. The Alvin Sunrise Rotary heard about the great opportunities that Brazoria County partners and upcoming events.
The Brazoria County Health Clinics have been hard at work answering resident questions, scheduling vaccination appointments and helping to keep our county healthy. To show appreciation for their tireless dedication, Commissioner Adams and staff delivered pastries and lunch to the Alvin and Pearland clinics. These efforts also supported local businesses - Celaya's Mexican Restaurant, Martinez's Mexican Restaurant and Panera Bread.

The city of Pearland launched a COVID-19 Vaccine POD and Drive-Thru partnered with Kelsey-Seybold at their Recreation & Natatorium Center. Departments involved include Pearland's Fire, EMS, Parks & Recreation and community volunteers such as the Pearland Chamber of Commerce.
Congratulations to Memorial Hermann - Pearland on their 5 year anniversary! The hospital system celebrated by inviting local elected officials to participate in the planting of a pear tree on their property. Mayor Emeritus Tom Reid joined Comm. Adams in the celebration!
Dale Libby of the Gathering Place stops by the Pearland Sub Office to review the 2021-2022 Community Development Block Grant application and statistics from 20017-2020.

Precinct 3 Events
The Used Tire Recycling Collection Event collected over 1200 tires that were turned in for recycling on Saturday, February 20, 2021. This event was made possible through a grant and partnerships with:
- Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
- Texas A&M AgriLife Extension
- Houston-Galveston Area Council
- Keep Brazoria County Beautiful Association and
- Brazoria County
The Vessel Turn-In Collection Event took place the week of March 22nd-25th and provided residents the opportunity to remove inoperable and derelict vessels. Precinct 3 collected 11 vessels and this event was in partnership between Brazoria County and:
- Texas General Land Office
- Texas Parks and Wildlife
- Brazoria County Fire Fighters Association
Service Awards
Precinct 3 is grateful for the dedication and commitment of employees that work for Brazoria County and its residents. In February, Commissioner Adams recognized individuals for their years of service. Congratulations to the recipients of Service Awards!
