The Meenakshi Temple Board hosted a New Year Celebration for their community and invited dignitaries to participate in the weekend's activities.
In January, the newly elected Texas General Land Office Commissioner, Dawn Buckingham, visited
Brazoria County to meet with County officials. Attendees included individuals from Federal, State, and local government.
Commissioner Stacy Adams attended the Houston-Galveston Area Council's 'State of the Region' Annual Meeting. Folks from Brazoria County and designated state agencies gathered to hear updates including the City of Brookside Village and the City of Manvel.
The Alvin-Manvel Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their Annual Banquet. Commissioner Stacy Adams presented the Citizen of the Year Award to Donna Starkey. In addition, the chamber recognized the years of service that Senator Larry Taylor has loved and served the folks of Senate District 11.
Mosaic in Action (MIA) held their inaugural Ball where Precinct 3's Chief Administrator was presented with the Champion of the Year Award. MIA serves the residents of Brazoria County through disaster recovery and prevention.
The Pearland Delegation visited with state officials during the Advocacy Day called "Pearland Day" in Austin. Various individuals, residents, and stakeholders shared their concerns with the officials and agencies including TXDOT. Pearland is the largest city in Brazoria County and resides within Precinct 3.
Commissioner Stacy Adams served as a Celebrity Waiter during the Annual Red Hat Luncheon hosted by the Adult Education Center. Funds from this event help individuals with their GED, workplace training, and work placement.
Keeping the citizenry and business community involved, Commissioner Adams attends the Government Relations Meeting hosted by the Alvin-Manvel Chamber of Commerce. There individuals and members can engage their elected officials, hear updates from taxing entities, and learn about upcoming projects.
The Brazoria County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce hosted their "Professionals in Heels" luncheon where Commissioner Stacy Adams attended as a guest of Community Health Network. Attendees included Bel Sanchez, ACC Board of Regent and Lorraine Hehn, City of Manvel Mayor Pro-Tem.
The Post Office on Walnut will forever be known as the Tom Reid Post Office as it was dedicated during a ceremony in the honor of Mayor Emeritus Tom Reid. Tom has been an advocate of the City of Pearland and a mentor to Commissioner Stacy Adams.
