2024 First Quarter
In the beginning of January, the regional council of governments called H-GAC, held their State of the Region breakfast where various leaders, dignitaries, and elected officials attended to hear updates.
January 17th was recognized by Commissioners' Court as Isaiah House 117 Day throughout Brazoria County. Isaiah House 117-Brazoria County is changing how Foster Care begins.
During a February event, Commissioner Stacy Adams and wife, Michele, were able to meet up with longtime friends and fellow elected official, Congressman Randy Weber and wife, Brenda.
The Pearland Chamber of Commerce hosted Pearland Day in Austin where residents, business owners, and stakeholders visited with legislative offices and heard from various state departments such as Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
The Pearland Chamber of Commerce brought their Leadership Class to experience Brazoria County where they visited multiple department and heard from many department heads. Pictured, Judge Roy Castillo and Commissioner Stacy Adams speak to the class about redistricting and holding court.
Commissioner Stacy Adams visited with a Veteran group in the Countryplace community and gave the floor to the Veteran Services Department Head, Sonya Broadway.
The Annual Red Hat Luncheon hosted by the Adult Education Center asked various dignitaries to volunteer their time as celebrity waiters. Commissioner Adams sponsored a table and served as a waiter alongside Judge Roy Castillo and State Representative Ed Thompson.
The bi-monthly Transportation Committee met to hear updates from the TxDOT regional office. This meeting is made possible through the partnership between the Economic Alliance of Brazoria County
and the Pearland Chamber of Commerce.
