Brazoria County Fire Marshalā€™s Office is seeking a Deputy Fire Marshal.  A Deputy Fire Marshal is a certified position responsible for conducting specialized forensic investigations of fires within Brazoria County.

Applicants are required to be a licensed Texas Peace Officer with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and a licensed Fire Investigator with the Texas Commission of Fire Protection.  A high school diploma or equivalent is required for the position.  A Fire Inspection license with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection is preferred during the applicant process and required to be obtained within 1 year of employment.

Deputy Fire Marshal will enforce all applicable state and county laws, rules and regulations related to fires, explosions, hazardous materials incidents or dangers of any kind caused by fire or explosions throughout the County.  The Fire Investigator will determine the origin and cause of fires and complete reports for all incidents and investigations.

Deputy Fire Marshal will also assist other regulatory agencies in environmental crime investigations involving fires, explosions, hazardous material releases, and other incidents.
